How to change the default email address for an Exchange account:

With Microsoft Exchange 2003, a user can receive emails at more than one address, so we have to decide witch one will be the default. This is where replies will be sent.


To change the default email address for a user:

  1. Connect to the server where Exchange is installed. (This is necessary because Active Directory Users and Computers does not display the necessary "E-Mail Addresses" tab if you try this from a different server.)
  2. Run "Active Directory Users and Computers".
  3. Select the user account to whitch you want to modify the default address.
  4. Open properties of this user account and click on "E-Mail Addresses" tab.
  5. Highlight the SMTP address that is to be the new default email address.
  6. Click "Set As Primary".
