How to forward Exchange emails to Blackberry Handheld:

With Microsoft Exchange server 2003, you have the possibility to forward an Exchange email box to another email address, including a Blackberry email address. You need a Blackberry with a activated email address. This address will probably be in the format choosenname@provider.blackberry.net. Provider being cellular phone company.

First, create a Exchange contact:

  1. Open "Active Directory Users and Computers".
  2. On the left pane, click on "Users" or where you would like the create the Exchange contact.
  3. Right-click "Users" Click "New" and then "Contact".
  4. In the "New Object - Contact" window, fill the first name, last name.
  5. In the "Full name" and "Display name" field, I add (Blackberry) after the full name to make it obvious it is being used as a Blackberry redirection. Click "Next".
  6. In the "New Object - Contact" second window, click the "Modify" button.
  7. Click "SMTP Address" and click "OK".
  8. In the "Internet Address Properties" under "E-mail address:" field, type your Blackberry email address and click "OK"
  9. Click "Next" in the second "New Object - Contact" window.
  10. Click "Finish"

Second, configure the forwarding for the Blackberry user:

  1. Open "Active Directory Users and Computers".
  2. Double-click on the user's account.
  3. In the "Username Properties" window, click on "Exchange General" tab.
  4. Then click on the "Delivery Options..." button.
  5. In the "Delivery Options" window, under "Forwarding address", click "Modify..." button.
  6. Under the "Enter the object name to select (examples):", type the name of the contact you created in first step and click "OK".
  7. Make sure to check the "Deliver messages to both forwarding address and mailbox" option.
  8. Click "OK" twice to exit all windows.
