Part 1 - Requirements to install VMware Linux Server 2.0.1 with Linux CentOS 5.3

Install VMware on a good and fast Linux server machine.

In this howto, I used a modest 32-bit Pentium 4 machine, single CPU 2Ghz with 4Go of RAM and 2 72 Gb SCSI disk setup in mirror. Of course it is not a production server but for lab testing only. The more cpu power and ram you can afford the more virtual servers you will be able to run at same time.

But still this project was fun and I still use this VMware server to test some Virtual Appliances. Hopefully this howto will help you get started with the server setup, have fun!
