Part 4 - How to install and configure free VMware Server 2.0.1 with Linux CentOS 5.3
Download and install those RPMs:
Download the RPMS to /var/ftp, they will be needed to install VMware.
Install the RPMs:
Install the super server xinetd:
Go to VMware server download:
Get VMware server, it's free, but you need to register. The last version is VMware Server 2.0.1 (July 13th 2009).
Download the VMware server to /var/ftp:
...add the VMware application.
Here, get the kernel version:
This last command will give the kernel version among other information, in my case 2.6.18-92.1.22.el5:
Since the kernel version and the /usr/src/kernels/ directory must be the same, we need to make a link:
This is the moment of truth, start the VMware config script:
During this script, answer prompts with the default. Use eth0 in bridge mode.
